What Is PTFE Tubing? - October 19th, 2009

PTFE tubing is literally one of the most important types of tubing in the industry. Essentially speaking, sometimes you have to deal with hot liquids, and with other types of tubing, you could easily experience problems with shrinkage, melting, all kinds of issues. PTFE tubing is naturally tougher, it doesn’t shrink, it doesn’t leak, it’s basically prepared for whatever you happen to need.

PTFE tubing is really the only choice if you are handling those hot liquids and have to put them through any kind of tubing. After all, you also don’t want the tubing to melt and mix with the substances you are using. In some ways, PTFE is the titanium of the tubing world. So if you are using hazardous liquids at all, you need PTFE tubing. If you want to really get hot water flowing through your house or even in some cases heating, you need to use PTFE tubing. In some ways, it’s not really a choice.

Luckily, there are plenty of options when it comes to finding PTFE tubing in general, and you can get high quality options, which is hard to find in some industries. But generally speaking, you won’t have to pay an arm and a leg to get in most industries. So PTFE tubing is in so many ways an easy necessity.
